剛剛再用medicine和human consumption作關鍵字在那個ICON網頁查了一下,
搜出這樣的結果:
Dietary supplements and natural medicines containing ingredients of plant
origin
NOTE: For Human Therapeutics and Medicines containing biological material of
animal or microbial origin please refer to the following ICON case: 'Human
therapeutics and medicines'
Non-Commercial
1. An Import Permit is not required for dietary supplements and natural
medicines containing plant ingredients provided that:
a) The product is commercially prepared and packaged as pressed tablets or
capsules; and
b) The product is for human consumption only; and
c) The product is imported into Australia (whether personally or by post) by
a person who intends to use it for their own personal use; and
d) The product is imported in a quantity of no more than three months supply.
Three months supply can be determined by, but is not limited to:
- The label dosage advice; OR
- A letter in English from a medical practitioner, naturopath or
alternative health provider; OR
- A statutory declaration by the importer stating that the product is for
personal use only and is less than 3 months supply.
2. For consignments that do not meet the above conditions please refer to the
Commercial conditions below.
Commercial
1. It is the importer’s responsibility to identify the component plant
ingredients of the product and then search ICON for the specific import
conditions for each plant ingredient identified.
2. An Import Permit is required only for those dietary supplements and
natural medicines that contain plant material listed on ICON as prohibited
and do not comply with the non-commercial conditions above.
3. The Import Permit must be obtained prior to importation. Permit
applications must be sent to AQIS Plant Quarantine for assessment. With your
application you should include the manufacturing details for assessment:
· The botanical and common name of the ingredients;
· The plant parts used;
· The country of origin of the plant material;
· Details of the processing of the product; specifically:
· Relevant drying details, including specified temperatures and
durations involved;
· Relevant grinding, chopping, milling etc details and, if available,
to what size it is ground;
· Plus any other information that may assist in assessing the
product.
This information must be on a valid manufacturer’s declaration (see PQA0021
for requirements).
4. For any product of animal, plant or microbial origin that is to be used
for animal feed, or veterinary therapeutic purposes an import permit is
required. Please refer to the relevant ICON case.
