Hi folks,

The next Belly dancing and Wine tasting event will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 and Saturday May 3, 2008.

The details are as follows.

Location: AMBROSIA Mediterranean Restaurant, 19, Baghdad Street, Singapore-199658
Wine tasting is from 7:00pm till 9:00pm.
Belly dance is from 8:00pm to 10:00pm (3 segments - Guests are encouraged to join in the dancing).
Charges are S$25 nett for those with reservations and S$35.00 for walk-in guests.
Reservations are limited to the first 30 guests.

This month, we will be tasting the wines from the classified regions of Italy. Listed below are the details of the wines.

Deep yellow with brilliant golden reflections, on the nose, it presents marked traces of pineapple in a unique composition of grassy & aromatic notes, with recognizable hints of hazelnuts, honey & butter. Fruity with balanced acids. The generous complexity & silkiness of taste is a winning characteristic. The features, tending towards mineral & fruity, are open to the freshness & captivating tones of apple & juniper, offering a prolonged aftertaste of citrus fruits & Mediterranean herbs.

From the vineyards in the best area of the Tre Venezie region, this sparkling wine is golden-yellow in colour with a fruity & aromatic bouquet. The wine is delicate & leads to a fresh & complex finish.

Red Wines
Cecchi Chianti Classico DOCG 2005 $71.00
Ruby red in colour, this wine is an intensely aromatic & vinous with notes of violets. The palate reveals plenty of minerals & raspberry characters & follows through to a medium body, with fresh tannins & a clean finish.
Grape varietals: 90% savgiovese, 10% Canaiolo- Colorina
Wine Speclator: 85 points

Cerrulli Spinozzi Montepulciano d悪bruzzo DOC 2004 $53.00
The grapes for this wine come from vineyards in Canzano, Teramo in the Abruzzo region. This complex wine has a robust structure with good fruit & medium acidity.
Grape varieties: 100% Montepulciano d?Abruzzo

Campo Verde Barbera d?Asti Superiore DOC 2003 $53.00
Deep ruby red in colour, bouquet of an intense, ethereal aroma blended beautifully with the vanilla & fruity notes. This dry full- bodied red is harmonious & well balanced, revealing a rich taste with persistent & delicate fannins on the finish.
Grape varieties: 100% Barbera
Below is an excellent selection of the finger food provided for the tasting. Escargot in Marinara Sauce
Royal dip platter (Pita bread with 5 Ambrosian dips of hummus, melitza, tzatziki, salsa and garlic tahina)
Honey mustard chicken (Chicken bites served in traditional honey mustard sauce)
Briwattes (Moroccan spring rolls served with harissa, a spicy Moroccan chili dip)

Guests with reservations for the wine tasting will also enjoy a 20% discount off for all further Food & Wine purchases.
