「李小龍聖嬰」由來 - 颱風討論

這個有些令人傻眼的暱稱其實是源自於 climate.gov 的 ENSO Blog

July 9 有篇名為 "July 2015 El Niño update: Bruce Lee?" 的文章，

作者 Emily Becker 在最後一段這樣寫：

Tropical storms and hurricanes have been given names since the
early 1950s, which helps to clarify communications. In recent
years, the Weather Channel has attracted attention by naming
winter storms, perhaps with similar intentions. “So why don’t
we name ENSO events?” you ask. Excellent question! I propose
we do name them, starting this year. Since I think we should have
a theme to the names, and the theme should be action movie stars,
I hereby designate the 2015-2016 event as El Niño Bruce Lee.

所以很明顯的只是她個人想要用一位「動作巨星」來形容這次的聖嬰現象；

至於 Godzilla El Nino 這個暱稱則是來自某位 NASA 人員

其實這些都不是最近幾天才出現的「名詞」，不知為何現在突然上了新聞

有可能是前兩天 NOAA CPC 發布每月例行性的 ENSO diagnostics，

對於此次聖嬰發展強度與持續時間的描述又引起了媒體的注意

值得注意的是：這個 blog 雖然掛在 climate.gov 之下，

旁邊卻也有很清楚的免責聲明（disclaimer）寫著：

Posts reflect the views of the bloggers themselves and not
necessarily Climate.gov, NOAA, or Columbia University/IRI.

所以這些內容都不代表官方立場，讀者自己看看就好，不用太認真
