不需本國駕照的租車公司 - 拉斯維加斯

我去看了一下租車公司AVIS的網站
在 Renter's Guide這部份通常會提到這部份的訊息
在AVIS我所看到的是說
A valid driver’s license is required for all operators of any Avis vehicle.
The license must be valid at the time of rental, and remain valid throughout
the rental period. All drivers must meet Avis’ requirements.
Driver’s licenses accepted in the US are:

1.Any license issued by any US state, territory or possession.
2.A license issued by a Canadian province.
3.A license issued by a country that participated in the 1949 Geneva
convention on Road Traffic or the 1943 Convention on the Regulation
of Inter-American Automobile Traffic.
4.A license issued by a country that has a reciprocal agreement with the US.
以上重點應該是3和4
我並不清楚台灣是否有加入或是有參與相關的協議
不過既然台灣的國際駕照可以在美國使用, 應該基本上是沒太大的問題
但是由於不同州對台灣國際駕照的認定也不盡相同
最保險的還是先問租車公司

International Driver’s Permits are only valid if presented with
the original local license. An International Driver’s Permit it not
acceptable by itself.
所以本人要帶國際駕照也要有台灣(本國)駕照的正本, 在櫃台時要一起出示
這樣應該就符合規定了, 根據網站上的資料, 他們並沒有限制在哪一州,
因此應該美國本土48州應該都還是可以用國際駕照租得到車

以上資料是來自 AVIS的 Renter's Guide節錄部份

雖然規定是這樣, 但是就實際經驗, 服務人員所要求的應該是"護照,國際駕照,信用卡"
這樣應該是沒問題了, 至於台灣駕照的正本, 據我們有限的經驗是並沒有要求

其他租車公司像Herz和Budget我並沒有看到相關的規定
所以有可能一樣也有可能不一樣

在經驗方面, 我朋友在德州Houston IAH的Budget租車沒問題, 在加州的Dollar租
也沒有問題~~~

但是很多東西並非通例~~~如果不放心, 可以打他們1800的電話確定後直接訂
這樣拿車時被刁難也至少有個證據, 但是基本上他們也是要做生意, 只要該帶的有帶,
他們不懂就會打回總公司問的, 所以事前做好準備就好囉!!
