中洋脊擴張的速度與裂谷形成的關係 - 地球科學討論

今天看書看到的 但是原文的 所以不知道是不是我的認知錯誤

以下是原文部分....


A divergent boundary on the sea floor is located on the crest of the

mid-oceanic ridge. If the spreading rate is slow, as it is in the Atlantic

ocean (1cm/year), the crest has a rift valley. Fast spreadind, as in the

Pacific ocean (10cm/year), prevents a rift from forming.

也就是說 比較緩慢的擴張速度會形成裂谷 (rift valley)

但是擴張速度比較快的話 卻會阻止裂谷的形成？

我實在百思不得其解 為什麼會有這樣的差異 請各位高手指點 謝謝 :)
