學校保險問題 - 波士頓

大家好!
我申請了salem college暑期語言課程
因為 學校都會要求 學生買保險
聽一般學生的經驗 學校賣的都比較貴
所以 我問了學校關於保險的事
但是學校的回答 也是含糊不輕的
說 等我報到的時候 會詳細跟我說
只列了下面條件
(1) The insurance company has to have the headquarter in the United
States
(2) The coverage should be meet the requirement of the school insurance
(which means, the insurance coverage that you would get from the
private insurance company must be the same/almost the same as Salem
State College Health Insurance)

想先請教大家
學生保險一般都是如何計費的?
我可在台灣買保險 提供英文證明嗎 需要買哪些險種?
大家都直接跟學校買保險嗎? 還是有其他管道可以買便宜的保險 ?

ps 我知道在美國看醫生很貴的~~ 所以 已經準備一堆藥了. @@
買保險 只是因應學校要求....
