在新加坡待的久些、觀察深入點,你應該能看到JessicaH所提到的現象。
你如果稍微瞭解新加坡的歷史,應該知道他自英國殖民期間就是個海港,
所以早期的中國移民幾乎都是碼頭工作的苦力(Jessica所謂的working class),
自卑即來自於此。
因為政府所牢牢掌控的媒體報喜不報憂、再加上從小的洗腦教育,
絕大多數的人的價值觀都很單一,就是唸書、考試、還有$$$,
基本上從小到大受的教育就是為了成為Singapore Inc.下一代的忠誠員工。
也因此,大多數的新加坡人對事沒有什麼自己的看法,
總是需要菁英領導階層或是藍眼珠紅毛對他們發號司令,
基本上仍然是停留在洋買辦的階段。
以受雇外國人的角色出發,我覺得新加坡很不錯,
因為他提供很好的就業條件和福利;這對絕大多數外派到新加坡的外人而言也是如此。
可是如果你深入地和新加坡本地人多交流,
你會發現光鮮外表底下是有很多本地媒體看不到的黑暗面。
當然,你可以漠不關心。
但是你看不到並不代表這些黑暗面不存在。
BTW,新加坡還是有一些有文化、有內涵的中老生代的,
但是他們文化的根能夠紮下、大多是因為在台灣或是馬來西亞接受教育。
本版風氣似乎不太歡迎反面消息,
這點倒是和新加坡越來越像。
