Singapore, Indonesia make progress in talks on maritime boundaries

SINGAPORE : Indonesia and Singapore held the third round of technical
discussions on maritime boundaries here on March 28 and 29.

According to a joint statement, the Singapore delegation reiterated that the
Republic's reclamation would not be a factor in the boundary negotiations
with Indonesia.

Indonesia had taken note of Singapore's position.

The two delegations said they had friendly and fruitful discussions and
further progress was made in the on-going work.

They had also reached an agreement on a number of technical matters for the
delimitation exercise.

The two sides also presented their views on the principles of delimitation to
be used in territorial sea boundary delimitation.

A further meeting to build on the work done will be held in Indonesia. - CNA
