現年88歲的泰王蒲眉蓬近年身體欠佳，泰國王室昨晚發佈緊急聲明，指泰王的身體狀況不穩定。
據路透社報導，泰王週六（8日）接受了腦積水治療，血壓不正常下降，目前需靠呼吸器維生。
報導指出，泰國王室罕見發佈泰王身體不穩定的消息，有關當局以往都是在泰王身體狀況好轉才對外發佈消息。
泰王蒲眉蓬是全球在位最久的君王，深受泰國人民愛戴，但在過去一年留在曼谷醫院治療，今年未公開露面。
泰國媒體擔憂，泰王若過世，將導致泰國局勢動盪，各領域休業默哀也將影響經濟。
過去的泰國王室喪禮儀式，全國下半旗100天、期間停辦活動賽事、娛樂業包括旅遊業必須休業至少15天，以示哀悼。
