原po...我假裝要租房, 寫信去詢問了...
(以下是經過, 如果覺得太長, 請直接按end看我的結論吧.)
今天中午我寫去詢問租房email的內容
Hi,
I saw your ad on craig's list and wondering if your place is available from
7/23 to 8/1? Total of 9 nights of stay?

以下是他回覆我的內容, 黃字是我註解我覺得不對勁的地方.
Hello.
This is a private Apt and is 1000 sq ft and comfortably sleep 4
people.Your requested Date and Month is available meanwhile We charge
$70 per night but ,$50 cleaning fees and $500 refundable security
deposit including tax will be $1110
就如其他網友所說, 他的價錢便宜的驚人.
我上網查同一棟樓出租的one bedroom 1130sq ft, 一個月的租金是美金$5500.
同一棟就算是只有770sq ft的one bedroom也要$3950/月.
這間是1000sq ft, $70/天 X 30天,(就算他每天都租的出去的話...)=$2100/月. 還包稅.
這點超級可疑! 這個價錢在紐約大約是可以租到靠近曼哈頓的皇后區或布魯克林區的價.

從網上我還查到這個公寓出租給誰都必須經過大樓的管理委員會面試通過, 所以像這樣出
租給不同的旅人當民宿的可能性非常小.

再來就是, 暑假期間紐約租房是一間難求. 我曾將自家的客房出租過給背包客, 暑假期間
大約是2至3個月前就滿了. (不過也有可能他最近才想出租之類...)
還有, 如他所說$70/天 X 9天(我假裝要入住的天數) + $500押金 + $50清潔費
=$1180, 而不是他寫的$1100...(但這只能證明他數學不好.)

prestigious address in New York City......Keys will be available for pick up at
the apartment on your arrival.
中間這段就是他的介紹, 想必他也有copy, paste給你, 所以跳過.
Our Payment option are Money Gram,Western Union, Money Order,Checks.
他所接受的付款方式沒有一個有保障你到時候沒有這房間, 你可以找到他或
退款的.
Our apartment address is 106 Central Park South ,NY 10019 New York.
Keys will be available for pick up at the Apartment on your arrival,
check in time is 2.00 PM and check out time is 11.00 AM.Y . We will
email you our contract paper to review in order to proceed with your
reservation. Kindly Let us know how you would like to proceed, We look
forward having you in our Home. Feel free to call me on 206-337-3190 .

這個RNJ Rentals如果是正規有註冊的公司(因為他要你付稅嘛), 應該會有公司的
網站. 不應該一個公司只靠這一個地方出租賺錢吧? 可惜網上完全搜尋不到.
所以, 我的總結 ~
1. 99%他是詐騙, 1%他是傻子將中央公園的高級住宅當皇后區的民宿出租.
2. 我真的太閒, crime tv看太多.
p.s. 可能還有後續發展...因為我在等他email合約與付費方式給我.
